Blazing Sun Skulpture, industrial upcycled wall art by Lonnie Davison

This amazing sculpture is the product of upcycled agricultural componants of Northwestern Oregon and a metal fabricator who spent years working on these machines, harvesters, combines for the farmers and ranchers of Yamhill County.
For years, old parts were hauled to the scrap yard until one day Lonnie found a figure in one of the componants that struck a chord with his hidden inner artist.
Feverishly, he began honoring the images he saw which he believed were bestowed upon him by his Native ancestors.

In this creation which he fabricated many years ago it's not hard to see the native influence in the final piece in which he sequestered old agricultural parts from a hay trolley attached to it's original beam, a windmill, chicken feed conveyor chain, a flywheel ring from a John Deer, and the spirit of the Native Americans who preceeded all of the industrial implements on these lands of Yamhill County. The Native Yamhelas Indian Tribe, part of the Kalapooian family flourished here in the vast and fertile Valley floor which stretches from the massive Cascade Mountain range to the Oregon Coast Range.
Lonnie has proudly displayed this and his other artwork all over the Western United States for 30 years including the prestigious Arizona Fine Art Expo in Scottsdale where he was invited back year after year as well as the Goodyear Art Festival, Sonoran Art Festival, Carefree Fine Art Festival and many more.
